Life insurance in the amount of the employee’s annual salary is provided by the LGHIB. Additional coverage may also be purchased.
PAID HOLIDAYS - Eligible immediately for 13 paid holidays (subject to change each year by the Governor and/or Legislature).
PAID SICK LEAVE - Eligible to accrue immediately
13 days each year, accrued at 4 hours and 20 minutes per pay period.
PAID ANNUAL LEAVE - Eligible to accrue immediately.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS - Eligible immediately
Employees may elect to set up automatic payroll deductions to redirect a portion of their pay into Flexible Spending Accounts to be used for eligible medical and/or dependent care expenses throughout the year. The money that goes into an FSA is deducted from pay on a pre-tax basis (before Federal, Social Security and state taxes are calculated). Because an employee does not pay these taxes on money that goes into an FSA, they decrease their taxable income and potentially increase their spendable income.
