Local Gov offers a custom UnitedHealthcare® Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan for all eligible retirees and their Medicare-eligible dependents. This plan has been exclusively designed for Local Gov retirees. Only eligible retirees of local government units who have chosen to provide Medicare retiree coverage and their Medicare-eligible dependents can enroll in this plan.
As a UHC Medicare Advantage member, your plan will help give you value for your healthcare dollar, offering benefits and services beyond what you will find with Original Medicare (Parts A and B). You will have a team committed to understanding your needs, connecting you to the care you need, and helping you manage your health. UHC will link you to health and wellness resources and schedule your wellness visits, including arranging an annual visit.
You can find highlights of what the plan provides below. If you would like more information about available programs and resources, you can visit our Virtual Education Center.
2025 Medicare Star Rating (4 Stars)

2026 Medicare Star Rating (4.5 Stars)
Star ratings are determined each year by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS uses 40+ measures across member satisfaction (Survey), clinical quality (HEDIS®), health plan operations, pharmacy management, and improvement measures to determine a health plan’s Star rating. This is the eleventh consecutive year that UnitedHealthcare has received a rating 4-stars or greater, demonstrating their commitment to deliver clinical quality, access to care, and a distinctive experience to your retirees.
